If you’re anything like me, you rush around to get ready for work in the morning because you probably forgot to do something the night before. This is literally me, every day. Typically, I forget to even prep the coffee maker so quick protein coffee has literally been a life saver.

Since I am athletic and work out 5-6x a week, I have a decent stock of various proteins that I use for either meal replacement or post workout. I have one flavor that is good, but I just don’t like to drink it alone because the consistency is a little thick for my liking.

While cruising Instagram, I came across people mixing their coffee in with their protein. WHAT. GENIUS! So I’ve messed with it a bit and found a nice holiday cold brew coffee to mix with my protein. It’s the perfect way to use the protein I’m not a huge fan of so that I don’t waste it!

I really like Aldi’s Califia brand of specialty cold brew coffee with almond milk, especially around the holidays when they have Pumpkin Spice or Peppermint Mocha. Since I keep finding the Peppermint Mocha on my Friday night grocery trips, I’ve been using that cold brew for mine in the morning. When I don’t have special holiday cold brew, I normally use Black Rifle Coffee Company’s Freedom Fuel or Beyond Black blends!

Ingredients

  • 1 Scoop of your Meal Replacement Protein (1st Phorm is my favorite brand, Vanilla Ice Cream or Chocolate Milkshake are great, as well as their Caramel Latte flavor)
  • 6oz Cold Water
  • 8oz of Your Favorite Coffee (hot or cold)

Mix your protein (I use 1st Phorm Level-1 Vanilla Ice Cream here) with 6oz of water in your shaker cup or with a frother. Then, add 8oz of your hot/cold coffee after your protein and water is blended well. Voila! Quick and easy protein coffee!
